I mentioned in my post before that I’m keeping a journal and the reasons behind it. I’m the kind of person who wants to make sure that everything that I do will contribute to my future. Wasting time is what I’m always avoiding because obviously, it won’t give me any good. I do take a break when I need to because it can be exhausting too to just focus on what I have to do in a day. But I always make sure to keep my focus on making my goals and plans turn into reality no matter what happens.
Making plans ahead changed me and made me what I am today. I used to be the kind of person who’s a happy-go-lucky one. I don’t like worrying too much about my future, how’s it going to be like and where it’ll bring me. Every time that I reminisce about the old days and the way I see things before, it made me understand how planning for my future is necessary.
Here are some of the reasons why it matters:
1. It can keep us from getting stress.
I know how stressful it is not figuring out what we need to do the next day when we wake up. When I started to keep a journal where I write my to-do list too, my worries and uncertainty about everything that I do lessen. I guess it’s normal to feel unsure of something but as much as I can, I avoid stressing myself too much.
2. It can prevent us from procrastinating.
I’ll be honest with you. I still procrastinate yet, I’m already working on it. This is one of the reasons why I decided to be serious about figuring out what I really wanted to do for the rest of my life. I don’t want to postpone or get any delays when reaching my dreams because I feel like I’m not being productive.
3. It tests our patience.
Making plans helps me to be more patient about everything. It may be about waiting in lines, grabbing opportunities, taking risks and even dealing with other people. Sometimes, I want to burst into tears because of too much frustration when I want something to be done or to get. However, I always chose to keep a straight face, breathe in and out and remind myself that it’s not yet the right time.
4. It makes us organize.
When it comes to setting plans, whenever it’s a reunion with my friends, family affairs, or celebrations like birthdays, I’m always the one who leads it. I want to include my loved ones when it comes to organizing my life because they’re part of my plans. They’re the reasons why I’m making myself better today and mostly, for myself.
5. It can bring us good results.
The main reason why we all need to see the importance of planning is that it can lead us to a better and brighter future. It’s not supposed to be so complicated when we know what we wanted to become. We all have imaginations of becoming who we want to be. It may be becoming a doctor, police, businessman, or writer, if we started to make plans pursuing it, then the action is what we need to do next.
