A Cold Last Week of December 2022

We’ve been experiencing light rain from the morning of Christmas Eve until today. I have checked the weather forecast for tomorrow and still, a rainy day. This weather doesn’t make me feel guilty about napping after eating lunch and having coffee every time I wake up.

Staying at home is probably the best way to spend the last week of 2022. Just chill and relax days with my Mom and pets. Rainy days aren’t my favorite season of the year but I can’t complain because the Philippines has only two seasons – summer and rain. When it’s summer, it’s way too hot that you have to take a shower twice or thrice a day. I’m still feeling grateful though because this rain isn’t a typhoon, unlike other Decembers we had experienced.

However, climate change is noticeable. We may not experience terrible conditions but some areas do. I saw in the news that some families didn’t celebrate their Noche Buena in their homes but in evacuation shelters. Due to non-stop rains, some areas are experiencing floods that aren’t safe for them to stay in their homes. I haven’t been in that kind of situation and I don’t want to be in the future.

This may not be the best year for me but I’m lucky not to be in any tough situations. I may not achieve the things that I planned this year at least, but I don’t feel bad about it. Maybe this isn’t my year to shine yet. I’m enjoying the days that I spend doing the things I love. I’m happy with the kind of life that I have right now and I’m being patient for the good things to come my way. After all, we all need to learn how to wait.

I hope you’re all spending your week smiling and feeling blessed.

Thank you so much for reading!
